Does anyone in here have knowledge in this area, or know someone who has and can read these links and explain what its all about?
Sounds really really good, but I can't tell HOW good, or even what areas they could be used in when done.
I hope analgesics when doing awake operations like chesttubes, and when waking up after bigger operations, instead of drugs or other shit which makes you constipated or feeling sick.
But it might as well be they are just targeting longterm chronical pain or something else, non-surgical, I don't have any understanding about these painchannels and stuff.

So, anyone?
My hope is this will be the shit, taking almost all pain away, with no side effects. If anyone needs it, its us in here!

Its amazing, but the big question is exactly WHAT they will create with this.
Something that will help all of us in here, and others needing painful awake surgery, or something else not at all relevant for us.

Oh well, some day we might get the answer to that, meanwhile it will give us some hope at least, no matter what.
But if anyone knows/hears more about this, please let us know Smile

Finally a site that mentions possible usage of at least the spider-venom-painkillers. Post-surgery it will probably work well it says!
I think if it works post-op its reasonable to believe it will work during also?

Anyway, I posted a question about it at the bottom, lets see if anyone sees it and can answer - maybe the writer of the article checks comments, lets hope so Smile
With really great pain-relief I might even sigh up for a doublesided pleurodesis, cut-open-version, just for the fun of it :p

EDIT: Too bad, my question got deleted, very strange, I thought it was very relevant but oh well :/

Everyone in here almost dies from pain, but only me (and Rossoe) seems interrested in better pain relief :p

Anyway, here is another article, but here they use a centipede.
Well explained about these different channels, and how they still have some trouble isolating the right one, and not the one that controls heartmuscle and similar.

According to the article, this could lead to the biggest advance in pain relief since opium were discovered ages ago!

New discoveries that might lead to better painkillers!

I probably wouldn't turn down a pleurodesis right away if I only could get a little bit better/safer painkillers/anesthesia.

This stuff from a very special snake seems most interresting:

https://www.thestar.com/news/world/2016/11/01/snakes-powerful-venom-could-lead-to-better-painkillers-for-humans.html

And this from a snail seems very interresting:
http://www.sciencealert.com/sea-snail-venom-could-provide-a-new-long-lasting-alternative-to-opioid-painkillers

Also some new stuff from a fish:
http://www.skynews.com.au/culture/offbeat/2017/04/04/venomous-fish-could-hold-key-to-painkillers.html

As always with these new painkillers they work on, they talk about chronic pain and maybe substitute opioids with them and so on.
Nothing about post-op pain, or alternative during surgery for local anesthetic or spinal anesthesia, but I suppose new miraculous painkiller methods ought to work there too!
